The Cramm Award

18th March 2017 2 By livinguktaiwan

Ok, so I don’t normally do chain messages that I receive via emails, whatsapp etc, so when I was nominated by Ha to do this Cramm Award, I did hesitate.  Then I thought despite blogging for nine months now, this is still a new world to me,  and when you venture into something new, why not go the whole hog?  So here we go …. First of all, the rules:

  1. Include a little bit about who created this award (with a link) and mention the person who nominated you.
  2. Share three things that motivate you to blog and share three people who motivate you to blog as well.
  3. Share one thing you hope to do that will improve the world.
  4. Answer your challenge question.
  5. Nominate ten (or more if you want) bloggers and give them a challenge question.
  1. The Cramm Award was created by a blogger named Liv, who started a website for our generation called theCramm. It has all the latest news for us, so go check it out!
  2. The three things that motivate me to blog are
    1. I want to share the two sides of my world – UK and Taiwan with as many people as possible and hope that it will inspire people to travel to these two beautiful countries if you haven’t been yet
    2. I need to practice my Chinese, that’s why I always blog in both languages (this being an exception, as its not strictly a blog I wrote)
    3. writing has never been my strength,  I’ve always been more of a numbers rather than word person.  Time for some self improvement.
    4. The three people who motivate me blog are:
      1. YOU, even though you don’t know it.  Everytime someone comments, likes or even looks at my post, is a massive encouragement to me to keep going
      2. Same to my Facebook followers where many of them are my friends that I physically know, as opposed to knowing you all via the virtual world
      3. and finally myself
  3. One thing I hope I can do to improve the world (wow! that’s a big statement!!) is to breakdown the barriers between people.  With the internet, the world is getting smaller now .  However we still don’t fully understand each other’s language, culture and thinking, often leading to confusion,  misunderstanding and conflicts.  Most blogs are written by normal people just like you and me, some more successful at it than others.  Reading normal day to day blogs won’t fully break down the barriers, but it will help you to see things from other peoples perspective, take you to some places where you’ve never even heard of, and more importantly take you outside your own comfort zone and into someone else’s world.  I hope my blog will bring new insights to people and you’ll get to understand more about my two homes eg it doesn’t always rain in UK, and Taiwan is different from Thailand!!
  4. The challenge question set by Ha was “If you could pick any place around the world to fly to at this very moment, where would you go and why?”  I’d like to go back to Finland where I went three years ago to see the northern lights.  This is still my favourite holiday out of all the ones I’ve been and I can’t wait to re-live it.
  5. My  nominees are below, and my challenge question to  you is “What two pieces of advice would you give today to your ten year old self?”
